You are not looking at it in ATCS :o . Yes, that would make it clearer :D I only poke around in the JSON files if I have to hack something that ATCS does not handle, which is very rare.

I'm doing everything on my phone right now (can't on work computer, wife is working on dissertation on home computer) so no ATCS yet...thinking about picking myself up a little laptop.

I've read a lot about people saying they sided with Blackwater because of the bed there. Now those posts were mostly from around 2012, so...was the bed in Barkos' (was that his name? The one with the long journal entries in his house) place not a resting place in earlier versions of AT? Cause, that resting place isn't far at all from Blackwater and it's totally free.

I'm just wondering here, cause if that resting place were in the game even back then I don't see a single reason for people siding with BW, considering that bed is free and all. So what's the deal there, was that bed not in the game back in ~2012 and the earlier versions of the game?

Edit: I realise this thread hasn't had a post in eight months, and that it's for the area quests in general, but I thought this was a decent place to ask my question. And I apologize if it was not, and if i spoiled too much while not using the spoiler command in the text.

I think most of the players side with BW for its better shops.
Perhaps sometime in the future there will be a better solution for this quest, I would really like to get them a peace contract.
Or a kind of investigation to solve both their problems.

Edit:
A third way would really be to find the real culprit of their problems.
It could even work after siding with Prim or BW and the best result would be for letting the other leader live.

The investigation could start in the mines west of Prim, perhaps with some notices or other clues to the origin of the Gornauds and White Wyrms, to find some remains of the missing persons of those settlements.
Once you have enough evidence you can return to the leader and determine this to reach a peace contract.
That will open the remaining shops. :geek:
If you have shown mercy to the opponent leader you can meet them in some distant area or city again. Tell him the good news and that he can return to his settlement to work together for this peace. :ugeek:

I know that I am no good in writing but perhaps someone understands what I want to say.

I've heard mostly the exact opposite. BW may have better items, but most of them are useless because of the Blackwater Misery, and Prim has that minor speed potion most find useful.

I haven't decided yet on which settlement to help, but is Blackwater's armory better than Prim's? Or I should put it more like; Do Blackwater's traders actually have items that you can use, or are most just useless still, even though maybe better than Prim's?

Prim has very little to sell other than the minor speed potion. Blackwater has very little to sell other than the Blackwater armor.

The Blackwater armor anything you might actually use? I'm leaning heavily towards helping Prim. Way more accessible town and I doubt I'd ever go up towards Blackwater and the mountains again after these quests tbh. I don't care for the legendary items that much honestly, at least not for now. The grind is too tedious for my taste.

Edit: For some reason, when going back to Prim for like the third or fourth time the leader said something like "I have good sources telling me you're siding with Blackwater" and then I can't talk to him anymore. And I had no mission for him, and couldn't get any to help Prim. So I got bored of the running back and forth and just gave all the info to Harlenn and backed Blackwater. Not what I wanted but holy hell was that quest annoying.

Some people do use the Blackwater gear, but it's an all or nothing deal.

I avoid going back to BWM. I don't mind climbing up and down the mountain (when you get to a high enough level, it's easy), but the mine is always a pain.

The mine is easy to remember. I have more trouble getting out of the Kazaul Temple again.
We really need a Light Stone to bring some light into pitch black areas.

currently Prim have nearly no good items imo.
