First five skill points and storyline

Post by Dizzy Spells »

Heya everybody! I'm pretty new to this game and I was wondering what recommendations there are for level-up allocation and which skills to pick for the first 20 levels. I was thinking IF at 5 and Regen either at 8 if I put points into HP or 10 "naturally". What other skills should I get after that, and which stats should I increase? Thanks!

Also, I am kinda-sorta an aspiring writer. Would anyone be interested in reading a walkthrough-esque story detailing my playthrough?

Welcome to the forums.

Others will surely help better than me on evolution advice.
I'll be interested in reading your novelized playthrough, and should you feel like writing your own story, don't hesitate to submit quest ideas !

If you ask five people that question you will get five different answers :D

Here's what most people would agree on:
Get IF at level 5. Get at least one more level of IF as soon as you can. Then you do not need to spend any level-ups on HP.
Get both levels of Combat Speed as soon as you can.
My opinion is that you should get one level of Regeneration. It means you can stand in a safe place and heal even if you have no potions.

Other than that, it is up to you. You have to decide what kind of build you want. Attack oriented? Defensive oriented? Balanced?

My only other suggestion is that you look at the higher level skills (for example Cleave, Taunt, etc), and decide what you might like to get in the future. They require certain lower level skills, so that may influence your choices.

It is also necessary at times to save skill points. For example, the all important and essential 2nd levels of Combat Speed and also for Dual Wielding, you cannot get until level 30, so I save 4 skill points that I can spend all all once when I reach level 30. Also, I would NOT get the following: Merchant, Treasure Hunter, Failure Mastery (as you can save very easily and often) and Magic Finder (unless you want to try and improve your chances to find Legendary/Extraordinary Items, which may or may not make a difference anyway).

Typically early on, it is best to add stat points to dmg and atk chance.
