Do saves compatible between updates?

I've killed Hira'zinn (was not hard on bonemeal, on par with ghosts in the Lodar cave) and it seems there is no much more to do for current version - no sense to level up, as I seems can handle anything present in this version.
I'm wondering - in the next update would I have to start from the beginning or I would be able continue form my current save?

Saves are forward compatible. You can use a save from version X in any game version >= X.
The opposite is false, so you shouldn't try to downgrade your game to an earlier version.
