Conditions

I spend quite a bit of time reading through old posts here, (most are interesting and some of them are very helpful). This afternoon I was reading this one - https://andorstrail.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4303 - the penultimate post in particular caught my eye.

One of my characters had his first trip through the spider caves today and the Insect Contagion and Blistering Skin were most definitely stacking: my A/C was down by 70% at some points. It did make melee somewhat protracted, there would be six or seven rounds with neither myself or my opponent able to hit anything followed by a hit each for some damage and then another half dozen rounds of stalemate. I made it through but it was bloody boring (and exhausting).

They are not stacking, but some of the Plaguestriders can inflict Blistering skin at 6x, and Insect contagion at 7x.

OK, so they're not stacking then, (should have researched a bit more thoroughly) but just as bad! :x

My only other character who's been through there has a higher AC and so it wasn't as noticeable.

It's a bit mind numbing to keep swinging and missing so often - I'm learning: it won't happen again.

Oh yeah, those conditions really make it tough. Swing and a miss so often is tough, but it is nice to have a challenge too.

They are bad! The only real solution, if there is any solution at all, is a high BC so that they don't hit you. But to get such a high BC you have to pay the price in other stats. Mostly, anyway. I do carry 2 x Ring of the protector, so I can switch to those when BC really counts.

Not getting hit can only ever be good, but a high AC so that you still have something useful left when 70% down seems to work as well.

This particular character has been a revelation so far with a high AD, but I've obviously just discovered the shortcomings of that - sighs, more balance required.
