Is having a crit any better in this game?

I always love doing crit type char in different rpg's for they have serious damage but I find in this game that more monster are immune to critical like Hirathil's the place where you can easily grind level so I just decided to distribute my statpoints on higher atk and AC and just save up some skill points for future use to get more crit, better crit, and fracture and maybe internal bleeding hoping that the next update Crit type builds will be more useful

personally, i think it balances out enough.

when i put enough effort into building up critical hits,
i always felt it was worth it.

granted, it is annoying when you find resistant enemies...
but not enough for me to change my gear out (for non-critical equipment).

all in all, there aren't enough resistant enemies to take away the appeal of Crit Builds.
but that's just my opinion!

and welcome to the boards, if i haven't said so already?

I have never put skill points into crits, but they are still useful, and can up the damage a lot. I carry different rings and weapons, and switch depending on whether the monster is crit immune or not.

I've read on the forum here that the Ghost type monsters are immune to crits.

Is there any way of knowing that from their stats in the Directory?

What else is crit immune, and how would anyone find out?

Demons, Ghosts, and Constructs (e.g the Ash gargoyles and the Oozes) are immune to critical hits. See here:
I am fairly certain that if you look at a monsters info when attacking, you get this information.

Yes. This is true.

I've looked at that list so many times - and never noticed the text on the left before. When I click on the type of monster the page starts below the monster header (and accompanying text).

I'm going to have to look for that info during a fight - I mostly just watch my own stats.

it is really ease to miss! ;)

we are also discussing displaying Actor Conditions that have been inflicted on the enemy.

i need to remind myself to include this in the App's Help Section this update...

(trying to make it a little deeper & more helpful)

One way to tell, after the fact, is that crit immune critters die in a pile of ash, while crit affected critters splat blood, of some color or other. I have never spotted an exception.
