Money, money, money

I like the idea of having "the best gear" as boss drops or otherwise quest items. However, we need to be careful as to not make money useless either. Already, past a relatively low level, money barely matters since there's plenty and all you need it for is buying potions.

Another option would be to modify stores so certain items can only be purchased once. And the price of those items should probably be adjusted higher.

Am I the only one who feels tight on gold even past level 30? I just go from quest to quest, buy some gear and potions, with very little grinding, except from 5-10 where there is a shortage of doable quest material, at least with my playing style.

The problem is that most enemies drop less than 5 Gold or nothing.
Most of my money I got from selling dropped weapons or armory.
i.e : When grinding for Wyrm Claws you got BW swords and daggers from the Auleths.
But from the Arluir you only got some pelts and even more seldom their skin.
Some places with Legendaries also have only worthless drops.

The drops should perhaps be adjusted a bit...

True, the amount of gold dropped is never high. IMO the whole money problem does need to be looked at. Early on, you just can't get enough without a lot of grinding (mostly for meat). Late in the game you have so much of it (or at least it's easy to get a lot of it) that there's nothing to buy. How late is late though? For me, I had money problems for most of the game (until at least level 35, maybe level 40). After that, I had more than I knew what to do with.

I split this discussion from the thread on great items being earned. It deserves it's own thread, because, IMO, it's an important question.

That's about the level where I finally start to salt a bit away, too.

Maybe the weak items should be cheaper and the better items (that don't get turned into drops) should be more expensive.

Maybe some quests in the early game can give a little more gold. Plus I think there were a few quests that we were going to try and add into the earlier game to ease the grinding.

IMO, late in the game maybe we need more expensive (perhaps even much more expensive) items. Early in the game, perhaps quests need to give more gp as a reward.

I have the same opinion. And this might help others feel like the game is not such a grind early on as you try and build up enough, just to buy the hardened iron sword!
