you might not get the best stats,
but to me - it's fun to inflict status effects.
I couldn't agree more. Inflicting status effects adds "depth" to the game.

ahhh... the Chaosreaper!
I've never seriously considered using the Chaosreaper with any of my 8 builds. Maybe this is the answer to why I should create a new build.

I have seriously thought about getting a Chaosreaper for just this reason.

chaosreaper is sweet, it has 50% chance of inflicting chaotic grip x5 for 3 rounds, which lowers opponents BC by 10 and dr by 1, but times 5, lowers BC by 50 and DR by 5! Really comes in handy when facing opponents with a higher BC. Plus it is fun to mix up different weapons and see what they do. Now, if you can also inflict Fear, on top of chaotic grip, or dazed, which is why I like the worn plated gloves 20% chance of dazed, lowers BC by 40!

I was researching this yesterday, what do you team the chaosreaper with? There really is not another suitable scepter.

That's true. There's nothing good to pair it with if you only want to invest in one proficiency skill. I was thinking about a build with heavy armor, so I can use Shadostalker and the worn plated gloves. Then Chaosreaper, and the BSS to balance the AC penalty out a bit, which would require two proficiency skills for the weapons. The heavy armor would give plenty of BC, so I would plow levels ups into AD and AC, again to counter the AC penalty of Chaosreaper. 2 x Villain's ring, again for the AC, but also for the AD. Give up on criticals completely. That would give me three pieces of gear with actor effects, 4 attacks per round, and reasonable AC and BC.

I was thinking to team it with the Barbed Dagger. But again, you need to invest in two different skills

If you want a second 4AP weapon with an actor condition the only options would be that or Blade of the defiler.

My Dual wield character is now approaching lvl 30 when I'll be able to apply the saved lvl 28 SP for the 2nd lvl of Dual wield and make it useful.

I'm still interested to know the actual dynamics of the game-play involved: i.e..............how does it actually work in game play? Is it alternate hits with each weapon or is one weapon used for one round and then the other for the next round, or what?

The stats of the two weapons (other than CM) just add.

As far as I know, with Dual Wield and its Specialisation you have the combined power of your two weapon to the AP cost of the one with the most.
When you now specialize the Weapon Profiency of the weapons you use most, too - you will never miss it again.
But don't forget a second point for Combat Speed.
