About DR

My newest buid is goig to high DR and I have noticed something:

-There are monsters witch cannot harm me at all. In near future my DR will be near 10..... IMO current DR system is overpowered. I suggest a small modification; Character suffer 1 point of damage every time when opponent hits player regardless of rank of DR. So if I have DR 10 and snake bites me and inflickt 2 points of damage I suffer 1 point.

-And Samuel... once again I ask... how this work...
Case monster with ability of poisoning attack hits me, my DR reduced damage to 0 poits, but monster succefully poisoning me. Do I suffer the poison effect ?

I think the attack is successful but because of DR you only get 0 Damage from it. However you still get poisoned. (I expect this to happen because the AD is reduced not the AC.)

I love damage resistance as much if not more than the next guy, but not wearing the Jewel of Fallhaven is not worth it. Also, there is better (higher BC) armour available out there.

Generally, I've skipped the DR boosting equipment in favor of something that either offers more AC or BC.

From my perspective, you only need Damage Resistance if you're taking damage to begin with. So if you can kill them off first (high AC, and enough AD), or block their attacks (high enough BC) then there's no damage to resist.

But make no mistake, before I could afford the Jewel of Fallhaven, I was accessorizing with Irigotu's necklace.
