with as much strike and flee tactics being used...

can we make bosses (and certain mobs) inescapable? :shock:

Somehow, we can. If a monster inflicts an actor condition that make your move cost higher than your total AP, you cannot flee, IIRC.

As Zukero says, that's easy if they hit you. One level of stunned costs you 2 AP, and raises your move cost by 8 AP, so fleeing is then not an option. It also increases your attack cost by 5AP, but we could create another condition that only increased move cost. If they don't hit you, then I think there's no way to make a monster inescapable (other than changing the code to somehow make it possible, of course).

This would be a very realistic behaviour.
And it put an end to the fighting style attack & flee and save after every good hit. :twisted:

Oh, just a flaw in it, at first attack & flee the monster has no chance to stabb back.
Hm, I think this should be averted too

Currently, a dialogue can start a fight but always gives the player the first round. I could easily add another that makes the NPC get the first round.

Yeah. In his case, I also wish to make it so that you can't just "cancel" the dialogue and escape both fight and extortion.

I would go so far as to say that once you have bumped into a monster, "Cancel" should never be an option. The buttons should be "Attack", "Flee", "Info". Once you have walked into a monster, you shouldn't be able to just say "Oops. Sorry. Let's pretend that never happened".
