Fear Actor Condition - More than just the Shadowstalker

We currently have multiple items (worn plated gloves, Gleaming Claymore of Ruin) that can be teamed-up to cause the Dazed actor condition. I have a hero using both of them and the Shadowstalker which has a 20% chance to cause the Fear actor condition. It would be awesome if we could introduce a helmet or boots that could inflict Fear on the target too.

Just in case you are wondering, this character is not in my signature because of space restrictions.

I agree. I think a lot could be done with gear that inflicts actor conditions.

I agree as well, i would also like to see more weapons and gear with the ability to inflict actor conditions.

A helm that inflicts fear.... gave me this idea!

Helm of Living Flesh (Type- Leather Armor)
AC: 5%
BC: 15%
Upon hit: Inflicts Fear x# for X rounds

I'm all for gear that inflicts positive conditions on the source, but not so much for gear that inflicts negative condition on the target. There is a danger that it would lead to very overpowered builds.

Give some mobs immunities..

that would require code changes, and changes to all existing mobs.

Code change, yes. Immunities, some, but not necessarily all. Just ones that make sense. Like skeletons can't be affected by blood disorders.

Also, just we could go back and change some mobs in pre-Lodar areas to have swarming behavior in combat, even if it means rebalancing their stats or the numbers present to keep the difficulty about the same in a given area. Long term game design, not 100% backward compatibility.

Priority compared to making new maps and quests .. that's a different matter.

And yes, inflicting actor conditions should remain rare and difficult to achieve either way.

I really love actor conditions on the target. It adds so much depth and interest. It beats the simple and sometimes boring act of tapping away to kill the npc. How cool would it be if Fear caused the npc to flee, then you can chase after it?

I am 100% in agreement with you there. My concern is only that if you have a weapon that inflicts Fear, and gloves that inflict Minor fatigue, and boots that inflicts Dazed, and a helm that inflicts Concussion, etc, you become a killing machine against which even the baddest monsters have no chance. I would rather add more offensive actor conditions to weapons and shields, because you can't ever have more than two of them.

I would think weapons only, and only on hit.
