I've got a build duel-wielding RoL. Well worth the grind.
No doubt it's great. And if there were no L&E, it would still be a good build, I bet. And a long time player like you already knew you were up for the double long grind, no advice needed. For a player that doesn't know yet if they will enjoy that, my advice is what I said. I guess I wasn't clear enough about that.

Tomcat,

All I'm saying is that the RoL to me is worth the grind for not just one, but two and worth dedicating/designing a build centered around them.

I understand that. I suppose if you do the reload method, you could get 2 RoLs in time for them to really help you through the tougher existing areas. That never really occurs to me - I don't have the patience to stop and grind when I could still be off questing elsewhere, albeit with lesser gear.

Tomcat,

I get what you are saying, but after duel wielding and skills were introduced I decided to branch-out and create many kinds of builds. This took some planning and careful decision making. I also grinded for the ELyR on a different hero. I can very easily take this conversation down the road of build types, but I'll stay on topic.

Bottom line, the RoL is worth the grind.

I think grinding is something some people are willing to do, or even enjoy, and others are not. Personally, I don't like it. I went for the RoLS, and got it by luck with less then 200 kills. So then I went for the RoL, and killed almost 8000 imps to get it. I'm not grinding for anything else. Whether the grind for a particular item is worth it is a personal thing.

I most certainly don't like it, but it is a necessary evil to get what you want.

I grinded ad nauseam a while back to get my RoLS. I got MF2 and was still unlucky with over 13k kills. 3 months later, I finally got one. I went for the RoL afterwards but gave up when I joined the dev team. The imps didn't even make it to my top 5 kills. My main char is still at the entrance of that cave...

After finally getting my RoL I have never played with it  . I have thought about one more grind, for the Chaosreaper. As Antison said in another thread, actor conditions make the game a lot more fun, and dual wielding a RoL and Chaosreaper would certainly be fun :D

if you look optimistically the grinding can be effective for upcoming release. something to do after you complete all possible quests available. then you can go and level as well as having a chance of finding these insanely difficult items to obtain. :3

i did three quests this morning and have a long journey for the other two...
inbetween that i will take a break and continue my grinding for variation. :3

@rijackson741 that combo does seem fun and far more enjoyable that my original shadowfang and RoL...

but still it is what make the items that much more setimental.

i had a similar expereience with the GoLF!
like 3k i think? it was crazy...
Got to 3000 with still no ChaR. Got bored, decided to switch to ShaF just outside the cave...
3600 chaos beasts and counting...
1000 izthiel guardians and counting...

And not really enjoying it. Yep, confirmation that long grinds for random drops isn't why I play this game. Itching to get back to map making, and hoping my next ones won't get rejected again...
