Translation to japanese

Post by surgecurrent »

開発者とプレイヤーのみなさん、初めまして。
今、このゲームの日本語への翻訳をしようととしています。なので、翻訳の協力や指摘・アドバイスを
していただける方を募集します。ゲームの初回起動時にも書いてある(...と思う、多分)ように、
あらゆる参加を歓迎します。(翻訳作業だけでなく、テストプレイも非常にありがたいです)

現在の進捗:
(100%)strings.xml
(8%)content_conversationlist.xml

翻訳作業は以下のページが参考になると思います。
http://code.google.com/p/andors-trail/w ... tion_Howto
string.xml以外のリソースは、Andor's Trail Content Editorでの編集が便利そうです。
http://andors-trail.googlecode.com/git/ ... ditor.html

=========================================

Hello developers & players
I would like to make translated resource of japanese. So, please help or
advice me. As the game says at first run time, any patricipations
including test players are welcomed.

Current progress:
(100%)strings.xml
(8%)content_conversationlist.xml

Following wiki page will help
http://code.google.com/p/andors-trail/w ... tion_Howto
If you edit translated resources, except for string.xml, I think Andor's Trail Content Editor will be useful.

Thanks everyone for the warm messages.

I have a question and reports about translation.
Question: Which is Andor the *elder* brother or the *young* brother of player character?
I thought Andor is senior, based on the following words of Landa, the drunken in Loneford village.
``No, you are smaller than him.''
This question relates which you can translate "brother" as ", elder bro" or
", younger bro". You may know the Japanese language cannot state
a family relationship brother fluently without specifying which is senior.

Reports:
  • I had completed on string.xml (defines strings appeared in the game system).
  • I began translationg conversations.
========================
I will edit the top message to commit each progress to this forum.

While it is currently not, and to my knowledge will never be explicitly defined, who exactly is the older and who is the younger sibling. I think it is a safe bet that Andor is indeed the older of the two siblings.

Hello,

Thanks for the answer, sdevaney. I have decided to use 兄(elder brother).
I will correct when a later version give an answer and it's younger brother.
(Or maybe they are twins. Impossible?)

Most recent commit appends japanese version of 4 conversation list:
  • conversationlist_crossglen
  • conversationlist_crossglen_tharal
  • conversationlist_crossglen_gruil
  • conversationlist_crossglen_leonid

Nice work, surgecurrent! I'm adding these to the next version that we'll release, and your name to the list of translators.

Looking forward to seeing more of the translation!

Again, nice work!
