Is it possible to complete both Five Idols and What Is That Stench?
If no, which item would you recommend? Woodcutter's feathered hat or Marrowtaint?
I'm leaning towards MT.
EDIT: Nevermind. Found my answer after poking around the forum some more. I'm siding with the witch. I've already made some quite evil choices.

Yeah, Marrowtaint is better than the hat and the 3 upgrades you get from the Remguard armourer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: the Marrowtaint is a top 3 best item, don't pass it up in return for some minimal item upgrades and some criticals.

If you are going to look at the gains, helping the witch seems like a great choice.
However, if you are planning on going for a crit build the woodcutter's feather cap is essential since it is the only crit head gear so far. You may never know if in future updates, the Remgard armorer is needed for better gear.

This is the only legitimate argument to siding with Remgard. My critical hit build did just that. All others have sided with the witch.randerthall wrote:...

As you can see from my gear, I didn't side with the witch

Re: Five Idols vs What is that Stench?
What if I run high DR, and prefer Stone of the Protector over both AP cost reducing necklaces?
I still remember how I was disappointed at the Marrowtaint... My builds are usually geared towards DR over multiple hits

In my opinion, defensive minded builds can't afford to not maximize their attacks/round. Your AC is lower than most, so you need to swing more.Wyrmspawn wrote:What if I run high DR, and prefer Stone of the Protector over both AP cost reducing necklaces?

@Antison, Teknically, as well as practically, you are definitely right, but... How could I resist that DR? There's a certain sense of pleasure in knowing nothing outside of crits and status can hurt you...
