endless grinding for leg items

So, after getting my ElyR on my first wlak to BwM I had to dig a bit for the Ring of lesser Shadow - and suddenly it was there! 553 small stones are with me yet.

Now I can go to sleep

I dont like the idea of bying those items... even when price is high (over million gold).

That has been brought up before many times (mostly from players who have had horrible luck trying to get one, like myself)

I have mixed feelings about this idea.

I dont see what the problem is. You either choose to grind for an item or you dont. The legendary items are hard to get because they are legendary. Lets face facts you dont need these items to complete the quests. Some are no better than items purchased from shops. Also if it took several levels of grinding to obtain your hero only got stronger in that time. I feel stongly that this is ok as it is.

No one is twisting your arm to make you obtain these items, I just look at them as quest, if you will. The Magic Finder skill is perfect as designed. No matter what the items drop is purely on luck. I have have exceptionally long hunts, and got pretty lucky on my second RoLS... And an items is what it is, there should be no additional bonus just cause it took longer to obtain, it is the gamble you take, and if the weight isn't going to be worth the reward, then don't do it.

I have previously proposed to increase the drop chance slightly with every kill.

Let's say you still want the item to drop about 1:10.000, then you start with a drop chance of 1:20.000 and update that to 1:19.999 after the 1st kill, 1:19.998 after the 2nd, etc. Amount of monsters killed is already stored and the current 10.000 number is already stored somewhere so it could easily be adjusted with some math. Due to the drop chance change you know the item will be found after 20.000 tries and will drop 1:10.000 on average. Possibly you want to reset the counter when one has been dropped.

I have been very unlucky with getting some items.

Agreed! I don't have all the L + E items (its not from a lack of trying) and i still think being able to buy them would take the fun out of them. I'm so proud to have my RoLS, i earned that thing 2 times over.

Just wish i could catch a break for the RoL. ... and the Elyr.... .... I still want them all.
