I started using a lot of different aliases for different boards some time ago. I didn't want people to make a connection between me and my account from that STD support board

This time I was inspired by Helge Schneider, a German comedian and Jazz musician. It's the name of a musician that tours with him and plays support roles in his movies.

Mine has been with me for a long, long time. As a teenager I was gothic, and was pretty bad. Some girl I was dating coined it, so since then emails, usernames have all been GothSinnr. Makes it easy to remember.

Was kinda hard explaining to my wife's mother though.

To make the name more unique slash unfortunatly is usually taken on boards 030 was just easy to remember i guess

I usually go by pi, some magic players posting here may have seen it before. Unfortunately since a couple of years boards seem to set a minimum length for usernames and every now and then I have to use a different one. PHPBB is one of those forums, fortunately if I registrered before a specific upgrade I would be fine as it's not applied retroactively, but these days whenever I join a new board I have to pick something different. I started using that name in 2001 when I wanted a nickname for MOTL (again, for the magic players) that was short, easy to remember and had some kind of meaning, I figured later I'd think of some explanation, however that never happened. Some beer might have been involved in picking the name .

The name I use here is just my initials, pretty boring.

as nickname. It's a programmer joke on SQL insecurities with references to xkcd.
