muchless Lodar's? no freakin way!

frustrating good times, indeed. 8-)

lol yeah Charwood and Lodar's would be impossible... Well not impossible, but would require a boatload of luck and perfect timing. lol
And wearing out the save and reload buttons
you know, RiJackson just posted about attacking enemies from a diagonal...

that might just be the key?

That is absolutely a key in the Level 1 challenge, i always tried to approach an enemy from a diagonal so that i had a better chance of getting the first swing in (and not getting instantly smooshed in the process)

Those swarming fly's and nasty bees.green maze is too much for level one and if somehow you avoid all those then there is mighty guardian of bridge and his two warrior.

So Pyro, you've given me inspiration, and I've started on my own Level 1 challenge:
Instead of completing all of the quests (because I'm not sure the HiraZinn can be defeated at level 1 in any reasonable way) I'm starting what I call the Level One Template challenge:
I'm tired of completely remaking characters from scratch. I think I'm on my seventh or eighth character now because I didn't export from my old phone. I always like to have characters who make different choices or walk different roads, but what I don't like to do is hunt for an RoLS for each of them.

So, I'm starting a character who will be level 1. He will have ludicrous amounts of experience. He will have an RoLS (Two if I'm feeling adventurous) . He will have completed, and even started, precisely zero quests (other than Mikhail's quests, cuz you have to talk to him to leave). He will have a good, relatively expensive set of equipment (likely a hardened leather shirt, a JoF, a QSD, and similar). He will have defeated as many cave bosses as possible to collect the best equipment, and he will sell none of it.

And now for the hard parts:
He will have gotten to Remgard, and gotten equipment from Remgard (for all the extra DR), but will hopefully not have started any of the quests there (except what is necessary to get through the door)
He will not die, and will thus bank as much experience as possible. The amount my soul would be crushed to lose 100k experience would be... bad. As such, he will have to make the return trip from Remgard also.
Since he will not have done any quests, there will be no bonemeal potions used.

One of the things I'm really curious about: What will Duania say if I haven't done anything?

Obviously I'm going to have to employ a great deal of hit/run to make this happen, but we'll see how it goes!

I have a template, but he's level 14. He's got reasonable gear, and some skills that I consider essential (IF 1, Re 1). He's completed some quests, but only the ones that are not controversial (why not kill the rats in the cave, or find the missing husband; there's nothing to lose by doing so). And of course, no Bonemeals!
