At this time, the sharpened gems have no use in the game, but as with any of the other items (including the other gems) that could change in future updates. And since the sharpened gems seem to be a more rare drop than the ruby and polished gems, I would hold on to any you get, just in case.

Having played this addictive game over the past few days rather excessively, i gathered large amounts of drops as partially mentioned in the subject. As mynforum search was unsuccesful, i was wondering if therebis any point keeping them or if i should sell them.

and its hard to say, really.

the future updates could have ANYTHING in store for us!
that is why so many members here are saving almost everything...
personally - i sell everything (which might be a mistake!)

i am comfortable with the fact that i may regret selling them,
so... your guess is as good as mine.

i say save the more rare ones - like sharpened gems... just in case.
(even though i keep selling mine off)

In the beginning, you may need to sell stuff to buy what you need, but as soon as you don't NEED gold, stop selling almost everything. The only things I sell are things I get a TON of that I believe won't be used for future stuff, and wouldn't mind getting more of if I happened to need to. A perfect example of this is drops from the Iqhan cave. So to answer specifically, I save all gems, shells, wings, and tails.

by grinding for legendary items all of us get tons of items.
I donot sell them rather i put them outside the caves from where I got them so I can keep track of it and don't have to carry them all

I do the same

I keep and carry all healing supplies, and an arbitrary 100 of other things. Oh, at the beginning you have to sell most of your meat for gold to buy weapons, armor, jewels, etc.

And I'm here farming the catacombs
