No more gold drops for non human opponents

It always looks strange to me when snakes, boars and the likes drop gold (boots and gems are strange, too). I think only humanoid opponents should drop gold. Creatures could drop items like skin, fur, bones etc., but the value of those items could be increased appropriately.

Of course thats difficult with drop items like swords that are dropped by monsters. Maybe those bosses drop a key that can open a treasure chest. I think we need treasure chests anyway. I saw some keys while taking a look at the v.06.11 graphics.

I know this game is not about realism, but I had this thought in my head for days.

IMO its weird when bugs etc drops gold. I like the idea of selling some rare parts of animals (skin of snake, etc) for gold.

I just assumed in some cases, the animals accidentally ate the gold, maybe they devoured a weaker traveler who had it on them, and that's also why they sometimes drop boots or gems.

I'm also not sure if eating raw boar or snake meat is really healthy, but I still want that +12 HP if I eat one. ;)

If we are going to worry about raw meat being healthy, I really worry about the meat from the rabid animals! In real life, we would all be dead from rabies by now! Also, in general, meat from predators is not very tasty.

I agree 110%, I always assumed the humanoid item found,on monsters, were from inside the stomach (that used to belong to the last poor soul to fun into, the monster)

Yup and everytime we kill something our character stops to extract it's stomach contents. How did he learn to do that to find gold in the first place? What are the chances that first rat we killed ate some gold and when we killed it thought hmm i should really slice open this guy and see what's inside. WHAT!!! GOLD!!! :o

Albeit I like the idea of dropping more realistic items (it's just another kind of gold), I don't consider it very important. Yet I'd be disapointed if monster don't drop gems etc from time to time, after all these are monsters and not animals.

He's got a point... after all, there was a goose that laid golden eggs and some of the monsters we face are much more weird than a goose so I guess it could be possible that they explode in a shower of gold coins when you kill them. ;)

My thinking was that in the course of killing it, we cut it open and the stuff spills out. Or we happen to cut a perfectly shaped slice of meat ;)
