Since there are two farmers in Crossglen that do nothing but tell you they haven't seen Andor, I propose giving at least one of them a use. In steps Farmer Crawhill.

This may become a spoiler at some point, who knows. :P
  • Farmer Crawhill:
Ach! What am I to do? A swarm of beetles has landed in me field and is destroying all me crops!

    Character:
    1. May I help you in any way, Mr. Crawhill?
    2. I can get rid of the beetles but it'll cost ya.
    3. What do ya want, old man?

    Farmer Crawhill:
    1. What a polite lad ye are. I would love the help if ye can manage it.
    2. Ye think I would still have this problem if I was made outta gold?
    3. I need the beetles cleared from me fields.

    Character:
    1. What would you like me to do?
    2. Isn't the saving of your field worth somethin' to ya?
    3. Ugh! Not more beetles. You're on your own ya old geezer.

    Farmer Crawhill:
    1. I need ye to kill 10 beetles for me. That should encourage the others to leave. Come back to me when ye've finished.
    2. I guess I do have a bit saved up for emergencies. I'll give ya all I've saved, just kill 10 beetles to drive the rest away!
    3. Off with ye then, ye snot-nosed brat! (Exit)

Quest: Kill 10 beetles and return to Farmer Crawhill.
Quest Completion: 10 beetles killed in Crossglen

    Farmer Crawhill:
    1. Ach! What am I to do? A swarm of beetles
has landed in me fields and is destroying all me crops!

    Character:
    1. I killed 10 beetles and most of the others flew away, Mr.. Crawhill.
    2. I've killed 10 of those bugs for ya, now give me what you owe me!

    Farmer Crawhill:
    1. Here's something for helping me, lad. Ye'll be needin' this more than I. Thank ye for yer help. (Character receives Cawhill's Bandana and 50 experience. Bandana's stats to be decided by devs)
    2. Well, here ye go. Me whole rainy day emergency fund. Now leave me alone! (Character receives 3 gold and 20 experience)
Thought another quest in Crossglen might help lighten up the monotony of grinding monsters till you can leave after character creation.

The 3gold was meant as an ironic reward. Considering how greedy you are in your choices, and you think you're getting something big because it's all he has saved up. What would you expect from a poor farmer. :P

I like it, too. And I like the 3 gold that is too little to buy anything. Start training the player to be polite rather than greedy.

You don't kill a sheep to get its wool, you just shear it. Which would be a lot harder for a boy not raised on a sheep ranch.

Can't be as hard as getting pounded on by a 300hp troll when that same morning you were just killing rats. I'd like to think he could shear a sheep.

Lol! Very true. Any kid that can kill a wild boar deserves my respect, let alone a 300hp troll. He could probably shear a sheep, spin the wool into yarn, and knit a magical sweater, all before noon. :P
