0.6.11 - a question on relative difficulty

I've played the new update for a while now, and I have found a good place to level where I gain significantly more XP than the Iqhan cave, however I'm finding I use a lot less potions, in the 10 or so levels I've gained since finishing the quests in the new update - I've used only 6 potions - which is more than I needed to use, I use a potions only when I go below half health.

So I'm interested whether other people are finding the new monsters easier or harder than the Iqhan cave? in particular the spider cave and the trolls (they are on my levelling loop) I imagine against some builds these could be reasonably tough? hopefully some people can confirm or rebut this?


As this may help people with how they build their characters it may be useful to include your build info if you haven't got it in your signature.

Personally, I don't like the spiders cause of all the debuffs, and the fact they stack, I don't like that either. Trolls, yeah the trolls are nice, they give nice exp, but I think the caves are good because there are a lot of mobs and they are close together.

Monster in Spider cave and in road to Remgard have low AC... So high BC makes difference. I kinda love my new build DR 14 and BC 100 :twisted:

I'm on my way to Remgard now, and I'm running out of bonemeal-potions and meat. The monsters are really hard, especially the spiders. It is especially tough that there are so many that one can hardly wait for the effects to expire before getting into the next fight.

Just testing high DR non critical build, because here are only few... IMO high DR is nice / overpowered...

I love the new area, becauce of the hard challenge. Level 30-50 build have hart time there.

The spiders can be quite hard, but the trolls are no match as long as you keep an eye on your HP. Their crit is awesome! What I think is more of a problem and making thie road to Remgard hard is mobs spawning right in front of you directly after a kill. It killed me at least two times in the spider caves.

Edith says I should tell something:
I think this spawning behaviour should not happen! There should be no spawning right in front of the player!

I've always had, what i've considered, a modestly leveled character. 32 and I had trouble with allecephs. With what I can again consider low 80 hp I find I have to heal after every couple fights or employ the classic hit and run technique. Thank god for my 10k bonemeal potions

10k bonemeal potions at lvl 32?!
I am about at same lvl, 0 bonemeal potions and only 1k money. What I am missing? There is no way I could make enough money to buy even 1000 potions without heavy grinding, and by then I would be lvl 40 already...
So, how are you doing that amount of money?!
I have tried grinding Flagstone prison, imps, and what not. But seems like I cant make enough money.
Do you have multiple corpse-eater skill points used or something?

In my opinion I dont use potions a lot, I just dont make enough money.

for example, I dont have any problems with Allecephs, I just eventually run out of potions and cant continue on the path...

Interesting, so people struggle more with spiders than trolls, the trolls are the only ones who can get me down in health, and thats only because of the stun which only happens once every 10 or so times running through there for me.

Well as long as other people are finding it enough of a challenge, I won't complain that for my build / level it is significantly easier than the Iqhan cave. :mrgreen:

Would be stupid to complain about 170-180k xp for 15 minutes of playing :twisted: QL at level 13 :lol:
