I don't see this as being a great stat weapon, does it have another ability I don't know about? Why do i hear so much awesomeness about it?

Because when it's used in conjunction with the jewel of fallhaven (AP goes down to 2) it allows five attacks/turn.

Barehanded or with Quick strike dagger you can strike many times in single combat round....

It allows you to lower flee cost to 5 ap, which is useful if you like hit-and-run tactics. Use cowards boots with it, and you can get four hits in and flee.

Quickstrike Dagger (or barehanded for -20AC but +20 BC) in conjunction with Jewel of Fallhaven and 2 skill points in Combat Speed plus Potion of Speed allows for 7 attacks in a single turn. Stack high AC and AD values to make this build powerful. Your primary AC goal would be to maintain a (Your AC) - (Target's BC) > 175 value so that you have at least a 90% chance to hit but really anything over 80 (70% chance to hit) is pretty good. Stack AD too and make it a goal that you fight monsters that you can kill in 3 hits that way even if you miss half of your hits you'll still kill it before round 2 starts.

Adding to that, if you also have Cleave skill level 1, when you attack multiple creatures at once, you get an extra 3AP per kill. So if you attack 2 at a time, after killing one, you get another swing to use on the next, in addition to what's already left over. Or if you have level 2, you'd get 3 swings after the first kill.
