@ace OMG, those designs are fantastic! I mean they are absolutely terrific, especially the blue one. The last one I think fits AT the most. The logo maybe should be kinda faded out like the previous design, but not that much. Enough to show color. Maybe not we'll see.

The true medieval look wouldn't work great as a game title screen IMHO. Too complex. Too detailed.
But hey, I like where the book idea is going, but you're free to throw it all away and come up with something else entirely !

I like Ace's last red design; I'm not so keen on the blue one. The red background is too flat though. It needs some texture.
I threw out a few ideas, but they are not necessarily compatible with each other (for example the modern spine and the metal corners). We need to convege on a single direction though, and should definitely avoid splitting into different camps.
Personally, I like the book concept, and could live with any good design, as long as it looks reasonably old. I like the idea of a medieval design because it fits with the world of AT. It could be made to look less complicated by shrinking the corners and maybe getting rid of the clasps.
I suggest simplifying the medieval design, then let's decide on the final direction.

Thanks for encouragement everyone . I also agree with the book idea because the little hero is keeping log of every quest and it this logbook contains the whole story. But yeah less complicated and impressive.

I was just confused Zuke! Ace's work is good, but we were still waiting on someone to create a better spine. Also, busy and complex is the hallmark of design from medieval through Victorian eras. But if you want simple, take a look at a slight modification to what we've already created rather than scrapping it all:
