monster drops

I dont know if this has been answerd elsewhere but as i was grinding for my elyr and second rols i began to think. When you kill a monster it could have a drop, or not. Is the drop determined when the monster spawns or is it determined when you kill the monster? It kills me when im leaving a room as the monster spawns, and i have to go back to get him just in case he was the one who had the drop im looking for.

Each mob has a droplist and what actually drops out of the list is determined on kill.

best possible answer, right?
that means even if you die fighting,
the drop isn't lost...
and, even if a bag drops during battle,
it will be there upon your return...
it's one small comfort in what may end up being a long grind.

Exactly the answer i was looking for thanks dude.
Also i got my first rols at 155 rocks and my elyr at 249 wp, both of which were a good deal under so im expecting a long grind for second rols, 1700 rocks and counting

Almost all of my RoLS were dropped right when I flipped on my screen - not after waiting for respawns...
I suggest the reload tactic, clear all the mobs & if it didn't drop = reload.
Make sure to save when all possible mobs have spawned & you will kill more enemies in 3 minutes.
Thus having higher odds of finding the rare drop.

What do you mean by "flipped" like u turned your phone to landscape or you just turned it on.
Also ive thought about the save and reload teqnique, i feel like i still could use the xp, although i have way more money than i need. Ive done everything in the game besides the rare/legenderys, but im getting ready for the next update, well whenever it may come. So im building my guy up...
