Problem with "Trusting an Outsider" quest

I am trying to complete the "Trusting an Outsider" quest, and have completed the 3 subquests: "Uncertain Cause" (given by Wyre), "Kaori's Errands" (given by Kaori) and "Spies in the Foam" from Jalnor. But when I return to Jalnor he still says he can't trust me yet, and neither does anyone else. There are no other dialog options with him. Is there something else that needs to be done, or is this simply glitched?

Are all the subquests marked as completed in your quest list? Have you gone back and completed the conversations with each character, especially Jalnor?

All 3 subquests are gone from my quest list.

I did Kaori first and he thanked me, I did Jalnor (and opted the peaceful route) and he thanked me, then got all the info and talked to Wrye and she thanked me.

I then went back to Jalnor to finalize Trusting an Outsider and my three conversation options were

"Can you tell me again what this place is"?" - "I require healing; Can I see what items you have available?" - "Let's talk about those missions for gaining trust you talked about earlier?" When I click that last one his response is "I would suggest you help Kaori, Wrye and Me to gain our trust." No option for completing the quest. Since I didn't kill the guard in the Jalnor subquest, and instead talked him into leaving, was there something else required there? I went back to Jalnor and he thanked me, so I thought that was completed...

Between the first two subquests and Wyre's subquest I upgraded the game from 7.0 to 7.1 - not sure if that has anything to do with it.

7.0 to 7.1 was just a bug fix, so that's not likely to be the issue.

In the quest log you can choose to include completed quests. Could you check that the three quests "Spies in the foam", "Kaori's errands" and "Uncertain cause" are listed.

I have turned on "view completed posts" and all three subquests are listed as completed. Under the Spies in the Foam subquest it says that

I asked the guard to leave and he agreed "after his shift is over." I went to Jolnor and told him that the guard was gone and he thanked me. I've been back to the guard who is still there and he says if I wait he will go inside but he doesn't move. Even though it says completed, is that part of the problem?

Another thought: perhaps Kaori is the glitch? I have gone back to all three subquest people: Wrye says thank you; Jolnar says thank you; but Kaori makes no mention whatsoever of the subquest, nor does he ask for the items again. And all three subquests are listed as completed. Sorry to be a bother on this, but I'm kind of stuck until this gets completed - there are several other quests I can't do anything about until this is resolved.

I dealt with the guard the same way you did. If I revisit Kaori she also makes no mention of the subquest. Could you upload a save file.

That works. I'll look at it. No promises of a solution though. Something doesn't seem right, but I don't know what the answer is.
