I got this thought that just won't leave my mind.

Please tell me that setting the "display monster loot" preferences to"do not display" won't in any way effect the chance of monsters dropping Legendary items (and those items automatically ending up in your inventory)?

No worries to have. As implied by the name, it only changes the way loot is displayed, not what gets dropped.
