"-ton" is an ending used a lot in British town names.

It's "waessa-" and the longness of the word that made me think it might be German-ish.

"Doodwaes" could mean something like "Dead marsh" in Dutch. :twisted:

If I had to guess a language of origin for that spelling, I would say Gaelic.
I can't find the English pun in it.
