that rom is Vanir, if anyone was curious...
it's called Commoito - but it's a fork from Vanir.
at any rate - bumping up to 7.1.1 fixed the HP & XP bars issue!
i can see them, although they are a little thin - but they are there.

Edit: can we make version 7 a choice in the control panel?
it currently only goes up to 6...

Where do you guys get the sprites for this game?
And also, has Oskar (and his known accounts) fell off the face of the internet? Has he told anyone about his departure back then?

Most sprites come from deviantart and opengameart.
Oskar left saying little more than "I leave".

both of his parents passed away shortly before his departure, pretty rough stuff...
if your reading this Oskar, i am sorry & hope it's not in bad taste to share this.
(i only say this because i went through something similar before i left)
and i think we should send our thoughts & prayers to him...
a loss like that never fully heals.
