Hey I am new here also. I just came across this game and have instantly fell in love with it. I also love to grind in rpgs I play so far this is great game for that. Though as I have perused through these message boards i see that most of my attribute increases should be going in AC? Also would it be prudent to save skill points until later to help with my "build". I am wanting to go the route of either a 2h tank. Or a shielded tank. Any pointers would be appreciated. (I am an old school rpg fanatic. Just remember I am not well versed in the Andor's Trail slang or short hand descriptions but I will learn lol.)

Welcome to the forums Crazyj!!!
The only terms you're probably not going to get are explained in the Extraordinary and Legendary items thread. As for your build, there's LOTS of options. So if you want tips, expect them to be vague enough that your build is still your own. Now that that is out of the way, did you mean "tank" as in attack strength or defensive strength? Because that would make a huge difference in the advice you receive.

I have been studying the stat boosts and skill set ups and i think im going to go with shield sword for skills when available regen and I.F. with rest as they come available. Also the catacombs in the church is a sweet spot for getting money at lower levels. High drop rate for reg pots and decent leather gloves drop rate i seen as well. Anyways when i get my base AC to 150% I am gonna alternate attack damage and BC as i level up for awhile. Hope this strategy works. Once i am high enough level I will got to the cave where the ring of lesser shadow drops and train there for levels and gold as well.

I would put more into AD from the start. Base AD is very important.

Ok thanks for info. I will take next 5 or 10 levels i gain and put into AD. That would definitely help kill mobs quicker lol. My base AC is 135 and total is over 200 with my equipment so far. I am leaning more towards the sword shield set up but the thought of duel wielding the balanced steel sword seems intriguing as well lol.

The benefits of AC are not linear. The more you have, the less it will help to get yet more.

Ok you convinced me I started over......only got to level 18......all level up stats went into AC so that was a no go.....but with this new toon i made i prolly did something that was more toward the darkside of gaming. I read about the loneford quest with 15k exp and did it at level 4 jumped me up to level 10. on the brighter side of things i saved a bunch of money by switching to Geico😎

Well, I did not say that AC is not important. It is. And my statement about the benefits of getting more were in the context of you already having 200 AC. So I will clarify. If you have low AC, the benefits of more AC are considerable. If you have very high AC, the benefits of getting more are minimal. It never hurts to have more base AD.

If you take IF as a skill, you do not need to plow any level-ups into HP. Don't ignore BC though. There are monsters that can inflict some very nasty conditions on you, and the only defense against that is BC (or to have so much AC and AD, and Evasion skill, that you always kill in the first round).
