FYI: In the future there will be a skill, so you could use this skill to get a legendary item more easily.

Updated the first post for the upcoming 0.6.10 release. (currently dev status - no beta available yet.)

2. Magic Finder Skill

In version 0.6.10 (not public yet) there is a skill available named "Magic Finder". Every skillpoint in this skill improves the drop ratio of the Extraordinary and Legendary Items by 50% of the base drop rate.

For example with 3 skillpoints the Legendary Item drop chance increases from 0.01% to 0.025%.

Code: Select all

skillpoints legendary drop chance extraordinary drop chance
0 0.010% 0.100%
1 0.015% 0.150%
2 0.020% 0.200%
3 0.025% 0.250%
4 0.030% 0.300%
5 0.035% 0.350%
6 0.040% 0.400%
7 0.045% 0.450%
8 0.050% 0.500%
9 0.055% 0.550%
10 0.060% 0.600%
11 0.065% 0.650%
12 0.070% 0.700%

So then question: is the max level of magic finder 20? Or did you just do it as a way to map the probabilities?

so instead of level, we grind the monster to get skill points, or automatic a level 40 person have that advantage, how does it works? is it more level better or from the time it is release then we choose level up or skill up?

Hi,

This is my first post on this board, so I would like to thank Oskar and all the devs/lvl designers for this great game. I've been playing it for more than a year now, and wait for each new releases impatiently.

Just a little question about the legendary item drops. I guess each time a correct mob is killed, it goes through a dropping routine that, statistically once every 10,000 times, drops a legendary item. There are no other condition, and theoretically the first Wyrd Trainer killed can drop an ElyR. Is that correct ?

If that's so, I think the quickest way to get those items is the following :
1- Go to the right place
2- Attack one of the concerned mobs
3- When he has just enough life for you to one-shot him, save your game.
4- Kill him
5- If the item is not dropped, load your saved game and re-kill him.
6- ...
7- Profit !
It then takes ~10 seconds/kill, and no wait for respawns, no need for 1K+ bonemeals, no walking, no need to be level 40~ etc... It sure looks like some sort of "cheating", but the game allows to do so. I saw someone on this forum using that sort of technique to go back to a safe place when he had not enough potions left, and no one hauled him, so I guess I could share that idea. Maybe someone will prove me wrong, in which case I'll end my 10,000-loadings spree :)

Someone else brought that up before, but I personally don't recommend it because whether you do it your way, or just by going through 100s or 1000s of trainers (either Gargoyle or Wyrm) or the imps, the amount of time you spend is potentially the same. But if you're killings 100s or 1000s, you at least have something to show for it in the way of more xp (which can give you higher AC & AD for faster kills) and more gold (either from actual gold or dropped items you can sell). So, in my opinion, if you just reload after every time it doesn't drop you could still spend weeks killing the same trainer/imp over and over again and not get the legendary item. But if you just kill them all and wait for respawns you get more xp so you can improve your stats to get through them faster, and for the wyrm trainers its especially important because if you can kill them on the first attack they can't give you fatigue.
