The guard won't talk to me. All he keeps saying is "stay away from the prison". Can you help?

Don't give up and don't leave when the guard tells you not to approach Flagstone Prison.
You may eventually proceed, when you try again.

There is nothing to stop you from initiating the quest there, or entering the prison. Just follow the right conversation path.

Makes me wonder…
This is the second question with 'problems' in this quest in a few days. Why that? To get along with the dialogue you really don't have many different options to choose from.
Could it be, that someone is distributing a broken version of this incredibly nice game? After all, the question where this installation came from has not been answered.

I tried to keep talking to the guard for ANCEINT SECRETS but no matter what he just doesn't work on the quest for me. When I try talking to the FENGUARD SENTRY the only option I have is "tell me the history of the prison" then he tells me a quick story and then he tells me that tis dangerous and I should leave and the only option I have is "okay Ill leave". That's it. I can't get any further.

It should look that way for all official versions of AT

I do not have that dialogue. I only have him telling me to stay away from the prison.
