A nice day!
Out of boredom I started a new guy - and at lvl 17 with just 79 shadow gargoyles (and a few masters) the ring was mine!!!
Now all other characters, who are lvl 78+ are looking a bit depressed, thinking of the bloody trail of thousands of shadow gargoyles they left behind...

I'm proudly strutting around with my two shining rings after a mere total of 6000 Trainers and Masters! Not that I actually needed two, but seeing as it is the best ring I figured I might as well go for the second! a little extra damage and BC sure sits well! (I don't bother with crits...)
Now back to farming GoW:s and Arulir Skin (for the fun of it)!

Got first ring after only 1500 kills. Sadly it too more 13,000 to my second.

My curre t character seems rather cursed took 8,000 kills to get Elyr.

Even though this is an old thread but people keep replying so I might as well...

Just picked up AT again yesterday after a year or so, I think it was Charwood that got me (probably a bit underlevelled) after BWM and this time I thought that oh well better level up then. So off I went to the garg cave and been there hacking away. Currently at 1350 master/trainer kills, 369 small rocks (some from gargoyles as well), polished and ruby gems seem to be stacking up as well at 145/522. Went in at lvl 30, now at 33 as the idea was to level up as well. Combat Speed (2) helps heaps and almost all garg trainers and masters are defeated in the first turn (4 hits with Flagstone's Pride per turn).

One interesting thing that I've noticed that I haven't seen mentioned on this thread at least, is that the top room with the altar seems to have a substantially quicker random spawn rate. After cleaning it out I'm easily getting 10+ random spawns within a minute, mostly the two masters at the bottom entry and right at the altar. Keeping this in mind I get better kill rate per run instead of the usual sweep and read AT forums for 3mins before repeating.

I really hope I'll have better luck than some others racking up to 20k kills before getting the ring... Anyway, it's only early so better get back to it. No MF skill by the way.

Thinking about the spawn rate, it's probably just an illusion since it's a smaller area with many spawn points. Still feels like it does speed up the process instead of doing a sweep and retiring into the small room for three minutes.

OK this is crazy.

After a couple of days of more or less casual grinding (2049 trainers, 1461 masters, 366 polished gems, 933 small rocks, +7 levels) I was thinking what people do with the spare time when waiting for respawn. While not being a huge fan of the whole save/reload method, I thought this semi-obtrusive way wasn't too bad and gave it a go. Even turned on drop notifications so no need to check the inventory every time...

BANG. 5 reloads, maybe 30 seconds, later in the small room with the two mobs there's a RoLS in the dropped items list.

Still can't believe it.

I'm at 1729 trainers and 897 masters and have gone from level 19 to 29 and am still grinding for one.

Good luck MyrddinBach, it can get really tedious and boring. I went from lvl 30 to 37 in the process, though now thinking about it it would have been nice to have it earlier.

Just ran through the green maze to Lodar's, what a bummer. Anyway, hope you find one soon.

Ok, for all who think they have it bad grinding for the RoLS, or any Legendary item, get ready for these numbers. I have been hunting the ring, off and on, for the last YEAR. I just got my FIRST RoLS tonight.

Gargoyle Trainers Killed: 27,922
Gargoyle Masters Killed: 16,544
Polished Gems Collected: 4,428

Have also killed 7,124 Fledgling, and 7,086 Young, Shadow Gargoyles. And collected over 10k each of Small Rock and Regular potion.

Now that is the definition of persistence! Nice work and congrats!

I've has been blesed by RNGesus,so I kill 700 masters and trainers to get one!
