But it is well worth it....this might just be the best store bought weapon. FYI - the info on where to find anyting is listed in the Gear List, found on this forum. Happy Hunting as they say!
Ahh yeah ... BSS is really nice ... in other hand you might like the Gutsplitter too (sold in woodcutter's camp).

good hunting

I think "the quickstrike dagger" is the best one, when traveling and upgrading.
However it's name could be "box glove" or "claw" for it has no damage, waves faster and brings down BC.

I really don't get all the love for the BSS, but that's just me. With dual wield, you can have the bonus of critical strike, good damage, and life regen with a ROL & DotSP or BoD.

I guess I'm just sold on the critical damage build as the most powerful build, while life regen from ROL keeps you fully healthy.

Anyone know how it is to dual wield RoL + ElyR? Shouldnt that be quite awesome?

Isn't ElyR a 2H weapon?

Oh, my bad if it is. I have never got one myself, just assumed it was one handed since it got "poor" stats for a 2-handed IMHO

EDIT:

Well, I got it now! Just 45 min after the post, and indeed, it's 2 handed!

EDIT 2:

Just wanted to add that in the last 45 minutes, i played for barely 30 seconds ^_^ got it on the second kill.

Congratulations!

I spent months and months on top of that mountain and have still never managed to obtain one.

I'm not worried about it though, it's not a weapon that i would use normally (or at all really)

I got mine in a day! Hah! Won't use it neither, but I was in the neighbourhood and figured i'd give it a try. In what do you measure how many you have killed? Like the small rocks for RoLS.

well from a straight forward look at dual wielding BSS vs ROL and DotSp:
BSS: you get four attacks per round for Dmg potential of (6-14 x4) = 24-56 with an AC of 64%.
ROL/DotSP: You get only three attacks per round, dmg of (2-8 x 3) = 6-24 with an AC of 41%
This excludes the benefits of weapon proficiency, which would improve the BSS combo even more, unless you did multiple profeciencies for the ROL and DotSp.
So, IF you are fighting a critical immune baddie, and don't want to spend hours/days/weeks/months searching for the ROL, this is why the Balanced Steel Sword is such a great weapon.
Dont' get me wrong, I love the ROL, but it's dmg potential is just not as good.
