You did not mention a recommended necklace because I would highly recommend Irogotu's necklace.

Irogotu's necklace 5% BC 1 Damage Resistance (!)

Quest: Fallen friends
Place: Irogotu's Cave http://andorstrail.irkalla.cz/0.7.0/map/wild3.html
Monster: Irogotu 100% drop rate

@liz7: its good that you read the whole guide but Irogotu's neclace is not much helpful after lvl20specially when you acquire villains ring, ring of backstabbing or ring of protector and if your build is not focused on DR. :)

Actually, at the end of the description for levels 1-10 it does say "And at the very end of this cave, you can even finally beat Irogotu himself and get hold of your first necklace."

But the Jewel of Fallhaven is much better. It lowers your attack cost by 1, so a 4AP weapon becomes a 3AP weapon. With 10AP available, that gives you 3 hits per turn rather than 2. With Combat Speed 1 and either the Villains Leather Armor or the Cowards boots (which lower your move cost by 1) you get either 3 hits per turn or 2 hits per turn and a chance to flee, rather than either 2 hits per turn or 1 hit per turn and a chance to flee. With CS 2 you get 4 hits per turn or 2 hits per turn and a chance to flee, rather than either 3 hits per turn or 1 hit per turn and a chance to flee (without the armor or the boots).

good points. DR can be really helpful early on, especially if you can get Irogotu's necklace and the hardened leather shirt, for a total of 2, (or 3 if you get the jinxed ring) then you can really mow down the rabid dogs and snakes without much to worry about. :-)

Irogotu's necklace and the hardened leather shirt together let you stay in the critter cave for pretty much forever.

Good place to save claws for later. Plus they drop health pots.

I found I prefer to go after puppies before the rats in the cave since there is more money to be gained. My first few levels go to damage to one shot them as well so that I get two attacks to possibly instantly kill them. If I have enough health after going in a circle after the puppies I'll head to the snake cave till I think I need to run (saving before entering that cave).

I also tend to buy bread as it has the most healing per cost in the game. I'll get a big supply to go fight Irogotu and use the fight and run heal and fight again tactic till he's dead.

How can you tell how many of a certain creature you have killed? I am playing on a BlackBerry.

On your character's overview page, you can see the numbers for the top 5. That's it.
