Selling a sword.

I have the venomous dagger from the snake cave. And i cant find anything on the forum about it.

But when i go to sell it it asks if i really want to do that.

Am i going to need it later, if not im going to sell it.

Hello DoyleChris, and welcome to the forums.

It is a boss drop, and therefore unique. If you sell it and change your mind later you cannot get another. That's why you get the warning.

Be careful selling unique items. As you progress through the game you will probably change your mind about what your best options are.

No, you will not "need" it. There are no items in the game that are required to finish a quest that you are allowed to sell. There is one item (not a weapon or armor) that is required to start a quest, and you can sell it.

The venomous dagger is quite a good early weapon though.

You have unlimited storage, so why bother selling any unique items? It is easy enough to make money even at a low level.

I completely disagree. It takes a lot of grinding to accumulate enough gold for the things we love. If you know that you want to wield a sword instead of a dagger then go right ahead and sell the dagger.

i personally would recommend grinding and doing the suprize quest till you can obtain the sword.

but i am a collector of rare items.

i also repeat this process per item before any quests... with a few obvious towns... that require you do quests first.

The game, like the game specifically tells you inside the pop-up you are referring to, sends this message for every single item which has no duplicate, as well as for every single item which the game designates as "Legendary" within it's rarity status hierachy. The Venomous Dagger has no use for any quest or necessity, and it also has no use in battle because it only deals 1-2 damage and has a small, useless, crit rate increaser, both of which also exist on other weapons with much higher value, and one of which is easily obtainable very soon later.

Most damage for most weaons comes from you, rather than the weapon itself. It's available earlier than most crit weapons for characters that play through the central area before branching out much, but I would expect most players using it to upgrade to better.

That is not so true anymore, after we added the damage modifier. That was in fact the point of adding it.
