Ha Ha. Unfortunately in the current game mechanics there is no way to start a fight with an NPC and ever be friends again.

A tip.
This quest only has one ending. All possible paths lead to that end.

Ah, yes. Thank you.
It can be difficult to tell the difference between someone you probably shouldn't piss off and some weasely incompetent middleman.

It might be nice to be able to resolve this seemingly peaceful quest without being adversarial.

If the game is going for that sort of misleading complexity then there needs to be some violent scenarios that can only be resolved peacefully and/or through clever diplomatic wrangling.

There are times were you are giving the choice to kill a npc, through violence. But the game shouldn't be about that though. It's good how it is.

Well, yeah.
But in the case of this quest...
your only choice to advance and complete the quest is to repeatedly tell an NPC who is not an enemy to goto hell.
It basically forces your character to be adversarial when there are obvious non-adversarial decision paths.

The good thing about this game it's still being built. Talk to the devs. They may have a reason why it is how it is. It's still one of the best games out there.

Halvor can be annoying. Not enough for a death sentence, but enough to tell him to get lost.
I hope that in your everyday life, you encounter conflicts that you resolve without violence.

We recently discussed this in the dev team, and agreed to rework some of the text to make it slightly more obvious that telling no more is fine.

Yeah, in my "everyday life" I'd insist that someone like Halvor be much more descriptively specific in his requests.
Unfortunately, from the standpoint of game design, that would then require a bifurcation of items from (normal_item_that_i_pick_up_everywhere) to (the prior) + (special_version_of_item_that_i_pick_up_everywhere).
From there we have to designate specific new creatures to drop that new item or modify every creature's drop table to include an extra and new item.
So, YES...
I was attacking this quest from a real life standpoint, a meta-gaming standpoint and from programmatic structure & logic standpoint.

With the hair portion of Halvor's request list I actually tried dumping all animal hair in my inventory and only collecting hair from a single specific animal. Doing this, I worked my way through every animal shown as dropping animal hair (on that wiki page) with no success.

I think Halvor can be 'daily quest'. As an example, game like Warspear Online have two type of quest ; main quest (main storyline), and daily quest that can be done repeatedly/endlessly.

I already completed the quest and got the boots.
Is it possible to find Halvor again?
