i would lean towards Cleave though, just because there are tons of ways to gain HP...
but not as many ways to get bonus AP.

the prerequisites are a little rough though, when you get to higher levels...
Cleave + Corpse Eater + Combat Speed = killer combo, especially when using a low AP cost weapon like the Quickstrike Dagger

I usually get IF + REG right of the bat, but that's mostly because i grind a lot in the beginning and they save me $$ on potions in the long run
Yeah, I got IF and Regen with first two skill points, too.

Have done lots of QSD before, but trying dual welding to see if the extra damage can make me want to use swords instead. Four swings per turn instead of six, but bigger swings. Not sure if it's actually better, but I'm liking it, and I've done a better job with the build in general.

This go around I'm focusing on adding proficiencies instead of Cleave and CE, though I did go for Evasion to 3 so far.

There's an old(ish) thread somewhere where I discussed this with fiernaq (like me, a technical player. I miss him (her?) :( ). IIRC the conclusion was that if you maxed out on dual wield, the average damage per round was close to what you could get with a good QSD build, but the other stats were better. So, QSD is unbeatable, until you have almost finished all current game content :) Also, dual wielding QSD is a losing proposition. The BC penalty is just too high.

QSD is still kinda broken, but that's a fix for later. Agreed on dualling QSDs.

Jackson, I remember that discussion, and I think I may have found it.

http://andorstrail.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... ike#p43149

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4299&start=20

Both of these topics have some really good discussion around the dual wield and Quick Strike Dagger comparison.

Wow  Good find! That first one was exactly the discussion I was thinking of! The conclusions aren't quite as I remember them, but close. Thanks

The second thread also has a lot of great insights into building a character :)

Update!
New Build Creation tool (beta). I thought I should put my excel skills to the test. A little game theory wont hurt. :D
Includes: skills, level ups, equipment, proficiencies, and a radar map.
Does not include: skills that do not permanently affect char stats (e.g., regen), conditions (except for BW Misery)

I hope the tool is easy to use and understand. More will be added soon. It is in beta.

Nice :D

I have an inclination to figure out what you have done. Your Excel skill are much better then mine though. I use Excel only when I really need a table of numbers, and for everything else I use Mathcad. The reason for that is that in a Mathcad worksheet it is about 1000 times easier to understand what is being done than it is in an Excel spreadsheet  . Anyway, how do you unhide your hidden cells?

Thanks!

I had a feeling you were going to be the first to respond. You like numbers, just like me. To unprotect a worksheet, just go to the Review tab and click Unprotect Worksheet in the Changes section. There is no password, so ur good. I just wanted to keep the numbers safe from accidental changes. To view the formulas just go to the View tab and check the Formula Bar and Headings option. The data for the first worksheet is to the right. Just scroll right.

Like I said, I put my excel skills to the test and I think I have mastered the VLOOKUP and IF functions, probably the most important ones. The formulas that are used are very long and complex so I tried to make the approach as neat as possible.

To be honest, I have never heard of MathCad before. Ima check it out.

**Caution, you shouldn't change the Equipment Data worksheet numbers. This worksheet is an active reference to nested formulas in the first worksheet. It is in order of type-then-alphabetical order so finding a piece of gear should be very easy.

If you have downloaded the file, you need to redownload it. I removed the protection. If you want to see the formulas, just go to View tab and check the Formula Bar and Headings boxes.

I'm feeling pretty dumb right now. What are we supposed to do with the excel file?
