The appeal of Duel Wielding

I don't really see much appeal in duel wielding other than daggers with certain effects or weapons that increase ECC?

You can get very high AC by dual wielding. I also like the variety of being able to mix and match weapons. I invested in both dagger and one handed sword to be able to get that variety, but now I have a lot of choices. I've played with mixtures of DoSP, BSS, SoSR, and RoL.

The benefits of dual wield are big. Like rijackson said there's the mix-and-match advantage of being able to adapt well to the particular situation you're in and still get great AC and damage. The excellent AC is also a good bonus, there are defensive bonuses with particular weapons, and you can do some serious damage BEFORE crits are calculated.

I've done builds with dual wield, sword and shield, and with two-handed. So far dual wield is my favourite. It gives me the best variety to tackle any situation.

Oh my, there are so many cool things about dual wield, i'm not sure where to start. It gives you so many options to combine different weapons with different effects. For example, dual wield Balanced Steel Sword (BSS) for some serious AC and really good damage. Or if you go with the black water gear, dual wielding the weapons really makes them effective. I've got so many other options in a spreadsheet somewhere, but trust me and the others on here, dual wielding is fun.
