Pure tank build?

Want to know if a full DR build is possible. My idea is to take barkskin and fortify when ever possible while putting the rest in attack chance.
I'm using a sword and shield build for more dr.
Still wondering about the equipment though.
So far I'm I'm using a dr3 ring plus the vilian ring
The quest shield form the new area with 1dr. The flagstone sword. The 1dr mittens. Boots are Varco boots of attack and The sturdy leather cuirass. So in total I have dr9 at level 20

DR 9 completely protects you from many monsters, and partly protects you from damage from others. It would be very difficult to get enough DR to protect you from damage from all monsters, and DR does not protect you at all from actor conditions. So my advice is to pay at least some attention to BC.

OK, but be aware that increasing AC (or BC) beyond a certain point gives diminishing returns. Doubling your AC does not actually double the chance you will hit (this should be obvious, because your actual chance to hit can never be greater than 100%).

So base 100 ac then switch between damage and bc would be better?

This is what the actual probability of landing a hit (or receiving one) looks like:
Chance to hit graph 2.png
If your attack chance is 50 higher than your opponents block chance, you have a 50% chance of landing a hit. That's the steepest part of the curve, i.e. where you gain or lose the most by increasing or decreasing the difference between AC and opponent BC. The more the curve levels out, the less you gain (or lose).

If you look at topic "Are you all in?" I go through a pile of math and strategy for pursuing an "All DR" build, and what it means, and what it does. I would actually highly recommend it; handled properly, they work really great.

Thanks. With the new content I believe the highest DR is now 21 or 19 the the DR3 ring and a villains ring
