Roughly the right half of Stoutford.
Isn't this the very same point I tried to make last September???? Not everyone knows the EXTENT to what a "castle" entails. In America has we learn is the castle is the one building where the king has his throne. Everything outside that building is simply the town AROUND the castle.

Suffice to say... the quest needs rewording.

Well, maybe you were taught that, but I find it hard to believe that everyone in America is taught something so fundamentally wrong. First, while a king may live in a castle, there is no requirement that a castle has anything to do with a king. A castle is a heavily fortified structure that almost always has thick, strong walls. It may be essentially one building, in that everything is internally connected, or not, with many buildings inside the walls. There may be a town or city outside the walls, or not. That town or city may, or may not, have a city wall, but that is not part of the castle.

A good example is York, which had both city walls (most of which are still there) and a castle (most of which is gone): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/York_Cast ... iorama.JPG. The furthest structure, with it's own moat, is the keep, which is the final fortified retreat if the rest of the castle is overrun. An oddity of York castle is that the keep is actually outside the main castle walls, which is not usually the case.

Castles have always been a barracks for military. Kings only resided in one building of the castle.

"They've breached the castle walls" - nearly every fantasy, adventure, etc.

Castles contain three key points for sustainance.
1. walls to protect from invaders.
2. a yard, which usually consists of livestock, horses, and food.
3. living chambers. (which are similar to a large motel. each providing different levels of classes, and obviously the royal family would get the 5 star suite.)

Castles really are just a fortified hotel. Which were always at the risk of being breached by conflict.

Disney among other children's story american writers in america point children in the incorrect direction.

One just has to pay attention to Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Monty Python, Vikings, etc, to really see that Castles are not just one building. (though there are a few that are simply one huge building.

But we're talking about america, where even the news lies to us. LOL also americans rarely fact check things.

But back to AT...
the two times i found the helmet, the first was in an outpost on the south wall, the second was in the building the map to the left. (i feel all of stoutford is the castle, since the castle walls extend into the residential areas which often also are part of a castle.

Also the harder it is to breach the castle the more valuable it was to keep.

Sorry to return to the ealier topic but I'm having the same problems finishing both quests from the topic title. I've already finished the "rumors" quest, returned the helmet and killed all undeads (but not Lord Erwyn).

My problem is, that the priest Tahalendor is not willing to talk with me about that "coin" mentioned in earlier posts and Lord Berbane is still drunken and not able to do anything. All the guys related to that quest (Odirath, Yolgen) are not telling me anything new right now. Any idea what I am missing?

Are you sure that you have finished "Rumblings"?
After you have defeated the Lich, return to the innkeeper and then to Yolgen. When you have finally finished Rumblings, Tahalendor is ready to talk to you.

Of course, Rumblings quest is marked as completed. The last entry in the quest log is (as I play the German version this is a free translation): "I told him that I don't know who was responsible for it."

Tahalendor refuses to talk to me and always send me to Yolgen who is also not telling anything new to me.

The last entry in "Stoutfords old castle" is the first one: "I tried to clean the castle from Lord Erwyn .... [] ... I should search for help."
The last entry in "Lost girl looking for lost things is": "Lord Berbane slowly tooks his helmet ... [] ... If ever."

Any further help is highly appreciated.

Could you please post a save game to the forums, or PM me. The quests in Stoutford are complex, and I don't think we messed up anywhere, but I would like to be sure.

Have you slept in a bed in Stoutford yet?

Did you talk with Yolgen about the area and some task that you could do for him?
I'd try that again, you might have missed something

Thank you and sorry for bothering all of you. I missed up one entry to talk with Yolgen about. Now he send me back to Tahalendor and I can continue with the quests.

Just an idea here as a feature request: It would be nice to mark already asked questions in chats with NPCs (e.g. greyed out or so) so that you can easily see what you did not talk about so far.
