Increased Fortitude is overrated

Post by invalidname »

I get that alot of people suggest it.

DON'T.

It's a waste of a skill, which you only get every four levels.

And the difference between a good tier skill at lvl 28 vs 32 is significant.

I pop +5 health till I'm around 50hp. That's a pretty safe barrier, potions will top you up as needed.

Save your skill points for cooler things, like Taunt.

Also not effective - skills like Regen and Corpse Eater, which is cool for Flavor and Style but not for efficiency.

(Please note, play how you like - I'm not the boss of you)

Totally disagree.

I usually put three points into IF because in doing so I WILL NEVER have to add level bonus to my health. I can use that for far more important boosts like block or attack chance. My newest character is level 43, has 134 health, 186 attack chance and 138 block. There are few critters (only those blasted spiders) that can hit me..... or block my attacks. Add three more skill points to regeneration and I'm regaining +3 health every 6 seconds between battles, a key point to staying in the game. I am at 134 health BECAUSE OF my choice to use IF.

As well, I also aim for CLEAVE, which gives me extra attacks upon the death of my enemies.... critical for when you enter the green maze caves or the new graveyard.

Suffice to say.. +5 to health is a WASTED level bonus, when by my choices I am gaining +3 to health EVERY SINGLE LEVEL... and using my level bonus where it will hurt my enemies the most.

It might be not too optimal, but I just like to taunt

Yes but you've spent 6 skills (24 levels of play) on skills that a potion and a few points of bc/ac/d.

If "there are few critters (only those blasted spiders) that can hit me..... or block my attacks" you dont really need all that health :) :) :)

In the long run using some levels for +5 health is nothing.

I get we all play different, I'll probably make a healthy beast toon at some point in which I'll be picking I/F too.

My current new guy is just rocking around at level 38
Hp55 ac249 ad28-40 bc120

I've saved 2 skill points, and just have Dodge/Evasion/Taunt

I get through the maze fine, if I get surrounded I just back off a square, then come back in smashing :)

Many (even most) would disagree with you that IF is useless, including me. I have over 200HP, as well as Re2, and a RoLS. So I just go where I please. There's no area of the map where the monsters can knock my HP down below about 100 before I can stand somewhere safe and recuperate.

I know people love it, and I'm under no illusions that people will agree with me on this...

I still think Skill Points are better spent elsewhere, on things you dont get easily from other sources.

Equipment will get better as the game grows, the few points of ac/bc and dam you give up for life will make no difference.

Just imagine the gear waiting at Nor City and Feyguard :)
