Only thing about going unarmored and unarmed is that it takes away the fun in using the items we collect...using different item combinations ect for weapons and armor...
]There are still a few different item combos available and more coming. Where this style loses out is it has only one actor condition (clumsiness) and it is a negative one. So the fun factor is a little low.
So, what are the stats for clumsiness and is it on source or on target?

There will be items that are still useful, or even key, for unarmed.
Maybe like how cloth items don't get counted as armour, weapons without metal can be used for Monk skill - like staffs or sticks or numchucks or beads etc. Would be cool to add lots of Legendary/Extraordinary items for Monks too, like prayer beads and talismans and rings made of anything except metal such as stone and wood but special materials like jade should be reserved for the Legendary items.

I always wondered, shouldn't fighting unarmed cost less AP? I mean being at 4 like when equipped to a weapon is a little bit odd or? Otherwise there is no other advantage over taking regular weapons (I guess, never tried it so far..). I admit you posted some impressive stats right before but still, seems easier to achieve armed than without. Of course there is the aspect of challenge, but high challenge should be high rewarded as well :D.
Do you think it would be too broken if the AP would be set at 3, with the necklace at 2? Basis attacks of 5, with the increased skill at max 6...the frog's over Loneford do it the same way, seems legit.
I totally agree that Monks should be able to fight faster and therefore cost less AP simply being a Monk, or at least at higher skill levels be able to add more max AP points to reflect their fighting skill speed.

clumsiness is a "negative" actor condition. Meaning it hurts the player. I.e. the source.

It is a mental condition that lowers AC and BC by 7.

I believe that far back in the mists of time unarmed did in fact have an attack cost of 3. It was increased to 4 because 3 meant is was overpowered.

Anyway, I do not think you can move any faster with no weapon than you can with a light dagger.

Yes, this true. What makes it overpowered is not that it's at 3 AP, it's that there are necklaces that get it to 2 AP.

True. Like the QSD. But we just nerfed that

I just installed the game a week ago. Its seems i dont have unarmed fighting and unarmored fighting on my skills list. Do you need certain skill requirements for certain skills to show up?

You might have to initiate the skill via the Charwood quest.

If you have the current beta version, you should see "Fighting style: Way of the Monk" in your skills list from the very beginning. The Charwood quest that T-rex mentioned can add a different set of skills, which I believe includes a "Weapon Proficiency: Unarmed" skill and an "Armor Proficiency: Unarmored" skill.

That's not quite right as the names are "Unarmed fighting" and "Unarmored fighting".

Waiting for the newest update. Hoping a new Crystal will be available soon so I can get Unarmed skill.
Monk+unarmed+unarmored will rock. Too bad you have to do Charwood quests to get the last two.
