An infinite quest that does not appear in the quest log is possible, but if it's not in the log I don't think it would considered a quest.

Yes. It is in the game as well. The guy buying izthiel claws for gold is exactly the type of infinite quests.

The term quests here is being used in general sense when the same guy can be further expanded into offering rewards, item upgrades and so on.. Right now, I can only sell izthiel claws for a mere 5 gold.
Imagine if the guy could offer potions made from claws, or some abilities for any items in return of a fixed number of claws, be it 250, 500, etc...

Similar to Herec in blackwater mountain offering fatigue, but its a one time quest. I am asking to further use these NPC's for an infinite type list of tasks or purposes which are rewarding in multiple forms.

Well, buying izthiel claws is not a quest. Internally it does use a hidden quest step, but that's just a piece of programming logic. It was a designed as a way to allow players to get more gold (although IMO not well designed, because there are far easier ways to get gold). I'm personally not keen on adding more of this. Expensive items should be expensive. Something you have to work for, not something you can get by just repeating a boring endless task over and over again.

.

I am talking about expanding the concept.

Here's an example:

When you visit Gauward in North Loneford you can experience multiple dialogs depending on how much izthiel claws you are carrying in the inventory.

Option 1 comes up if you have 100 claws - The dialog will
offer you the choice to have +2DR. It is a never ending reward. +2DR for every 100 claws

Option 2 comes up if you have 200 claws then +25 BC each time...

Option 3 comes up if you have 300 claws for a very powerful potion that boosts DR, BC, and anything else for 20 rounds. This is also a one time reward but the potion can be purchased as much as you want once the option is unlocked for a fixed amount.

Lastly, (or developers can add more) Option 4 comes up if you have 500 claws then 50% chance of Bleeding wounds x4 (5 rounds) shall be granted to any existing weapon (or developers can introduce a new weapon instead). This option is a one time reward. Can't upgrade multiple weapons with bleeding wounds condition

Imagine similar type of NPC's across the game world offering gold and multiple rewards in different forms..

A complete game changer IMO. It will also address the criticisms of the game being too grindy with no rewards and even the flaws of the skill points which are quite underwhelming in its current form.

What you suggest would allow a player to become invincible very easily. Just farm claws until you have 20DR.

But the suggestion is worth considering IMO. The issues can be addressed. It was meant for illustration purposes only. Open for the best minds in the team to come up with their own versions which satisfies all the concerns without scrapping the suggestion altogether.

Maybe. No infinite quest is going to give stats or skills though.

Please fill in the multiple options with rewards that bring more replayability to the game and make grinding in the long run more exciting.
