Stone Club - Dual wield

Post by Osho »

When I dual wield stone club (main) with steel sword (off-hand), the total damage actually drops instead of adding the damage potential of both weapons.

See screenshots for comparison of damage numbers.

I have Dual Wield Level 2.

Is stone club not compatible for dual wielding?

There is no issue of a particular weapon being dual-compatible or not - any one-handed weapon should behave the same, though until skill level 2, it matters which weapon is in which hand.

So I'm not sure why at skill 2 you're seeing the damage drop off. I might be missing something though.

What does it look like if you switch hands? With just the sword?

Damage numbers remain the same after changing the weapons be it main or off-hand one. It drops the moment I equip steel sword (be it main or off-hand). with the stone club

Screenshots with steel sword equipped and no weapons equipped

Ok thanks - I'm glad to confirm that it doesn't change when swapping hands.

Will have to ponder that one (or see if one of the devs steps in to point out what I'm missing).

Look at your proficiency skills. Are you using the blunt weapon proficiency?

Tge damage drops because of damage modifier. When dual wielding 2 weapons, the lowest of the dmg modifier is selected (here the steel sword one)

Ah, thanks Lacrom. That's something that I didn't learn when the damage modifiers came out.

No.

Strange. Is it possible to change in future to pick the highest DM? I think it's logical given the attack cost, attack damage, etc are the highest ones of the two weapons selected when dual wielding.
