Dualwielding QSD bug

Greetings everyone,

I just got the skill Dualwielding 2 and equipped QSD and DotSP with Marrowtaint amulet.

In the skill information, it says AP cost will be the fastest weapon's AP cost with 2DW, it makes 3AP for QSD. And minus 1AP because of my equipped Marrowtaint. But it is not like that, it doesn't calculates the amulet's -1AP and gives me a cost of 3AP instead of 2!

It works fine with any other weapon combinations but qsd.

Actually, it says "the attack speed equals the highest of the attack speed of the two equipped weapons". When I first read that, I read it the same way you do: the fastest of the two equipped weapons. That's not what it means though, and IMO the description is very misleading. It does say in the second paragraph of the description that attack speed is AP cost, but it's easy to miss that, and IMO it's kind of backwards anyway. To my way of thinking a higher AP cost is a lower attack speed. It would be a lot clearer if it read "the attack cost equals the highest of the attack costs of the two equipped weapons". So in your case DoSP with Marrowtaint gives you an attack cost of 3AP. It works this way for all weapons; QSD is no exception.

So not a bug, unless you consider a badly worded description a bug.

Thank you for a fast reply.

To make it more clearer, let me ask one more question please.

So, if i dualwield an one handed axe with a cost of 6AP (lets say axe of whirlwind) with qsd which is 3AP, what will be the ap cost with a Morrowtaint?

The attack cost would be 6AP - 1AP = 5AP

It makes no sense to dual wield with the QSD. Either you don't get the very low attack cost, but you do get the block penalty, or you get double the block penalty (2 x QSD).

I don't think its fair. I've felt as i'm cheated.

Thank you for the explanation though.

Well, I don't believe carrying a dagger in your left hand should make you able to swing your right hand's longsword faster.
I agree the description is confusing though.

Perhaps, but as Zukero says, it can't work any other way. If the attack cost was really the attack cost of the fastest weapon you could get the speed of wielding a very light dagger, along with the benefits of any other single handed weapon, no matter how heavy or unwieldy it is. That would make dual-wielding grossly overpowered.

Does that mean it will be changed in the next release? :D

Exactly, i agree.

So the misleading skill information needs to be revised.

Thank you :)

I encountered a similar bug when afflicted with Minor Fatique.
I am dualwielding two ROLs with Marrowtaint. The AP bar says I have 10 AP left, the AP cost is 6 due to the condition, but I seem not to have enough AP left.

Even with the dual wielding penalty (Attack cost =5+1) that doesn't add up. Or the condition afflicts both weapons...

The same happened with putrification...
