Ok, you may be right. I'll take a couple of days to cool off and take care of personal things, then come back and see what transpired. Apollogies if I offended anyone.

The only thing I can think of that would preserve the current functionality and layout would be to make the quickslots or "combat buttons" optional, so that you can have one or the other, or neither (my preference), but not both. Not sure even that would work though if the actor conditions really start to pile up (actually, I'm not sure what happens in that case if you have the quickslots either, because I never use them).

Quickslots already can cover some of your actor conditions, e.g. if you put them bottom center. You can just see a sliver on the top edge of the actor condition icon, so you know to turn off the quickslots to find out if your sustenance gave you food poisoning.

Yup. Super annoying.

Yeah we could use someone that has some UI/UX design experience to give us an overhaul and better display all the required information. It is certainly a tough job due to all the variations of device screens and such.

I also have trouble with fleeing north when I'm fighting a battle too near the top of the screen. Even after I clear the toast "you can flee now" message, the combat bars cover the shots I would want to touch in order to flee.

Ijust realized - Does that mean I'm the only one who doesn't use the dpad?

I don't use the dpad, unless I try to flee and the bar is in my way. Then I have to switch to the pad for a moment

No dpad and the only way to flee to the north is to rotate the phone horizontally.

I guess the take home from this is that we could use a complete redesign of the UI. That's a huge task, especially, as sdevaney pointed out, that we try to support as many old devices as possible.

Fleeing north really is a pain. That certainly does bug me, too.
The dpad works, but is one more thing cluttering up the display and map. Cool that you can minimize it, but it still gets in the way, and always is maximized when loading a save. Option to have it min. or max. at default would not solve the overall issue, but improve upon it.
