Arena combat, multiplayer concept.

I think a multiplayer arena type combat would be good. Like joining and being paired up against some1 of close level. A little 1on1 combat. No rewards or anything, just me vs you. Would give people something to do while waiting for updates or bored of questing/grinding.

In other topics the multiplayer concept has been discussed. One of the problems that i have seen adressed is that the program would have to get permission to automatically connect to the internet which would deter new players from installing. There were more and i wish i could remember them at the moment but online seems to be a no go possibility.

Still a cool idea though i think it would definatly be nice to see how we stacked up in an actual duel and be able to see which builds would do best

Perhaps an alternate "Andor's Arena" version which allows you to import an AT char but is designed without the maps/quests etc of AT and is focused instead on multiplayer. I'd actually rather we keep working more on AT rather than direct energy and motivation towards another not-so-crucial feature but this is a possibility for the future.

Multi-player worlds are cool. That being said, not only would you need internet connection/permissions, you'd also have to host the virtual world. That usually comes at a cost. Those that have tried to do it free usually have reliability issues and/or update issues [you many times have to bring world down to update it].
Good idea, but I'm tentative about calling it feasible; maybe if I had seen a succesful, free implimentation of such.

Excellent post!

This idea was brought up but i think Oskar was against it because it would require permissions to get online and that might scare off potential players.

I agree. Since I dont have data packet on my account, I generally avoid games that has permission for internet access. I know I can prevent it from using net, but its more like a "turn-down" for me. Its not worth the + it would give to marginal amount of gamers.

The only problem i see is that people can (and most likely will) modify the game to cheat, we would have to figure out a way around this. I trust the forum members, its the general public that makes me paranoid.

I like the idea of an "Andor's Arena" that would be a seperate downloaded game...this way those that would like to have pvp combat can have it and those who don't can stick to only AT.
