Timeline for AT

My idea is to make different points in a players history accessible. If you save, you can choose to set a milestone. This means when loading that savegame you can choose not to load the most recent point but any milestone you set before.

Pro:
-You can "fork" your character's story easily without having to start at zero. You can check out the impact that decisions concerning story or build have.
- fewer savegame files.

Contra:
-It lessens the importance of decisions. Usually you only have one chance to make it. This way you could easily go back and change it.
- bigger savegame files.

I don't think it is a good idea and you said why: any important decisions wont have the same impact as you can change your decisions. The aim of this game is to build a story around your character, if you make a decision in the real life, could ever know what would have happened if you decided chosing the other option? No. So it shall be the same in AT :).

You can do that anyway with your saves. For instance, I always save in my second slot just before I level. This way, if I feel I made a wrong decision when leveling, I can just reload at that save. I also have two other save slots for saving normally and just before a big decision. ;)

In my opinion a single milestone is not needed. Following your reasoning for it, being able to reload your character in the quest menu at a quest entry may be more useful to you. I, personally disagree with allowing that, but I thought I might give you ideas for your suggestion. ;)
