Crafting / Combining Items

Item Crafting has been mentioned, I will start with 2 Basic Item Crafting Skills, Brewing Potions, and Cooking. The Skill Item Toss is here as well, for both giving aid to any henchmen or throwing potions at the enemy.

This is basically the Smart Character with some woodsman...


Item Toss
Cost: 2 AP attack,
R1: -50% to hit
R2: -25% to hit
R3: -10% to hit
R4: no hit penalty
R5: +10% to hit
R6: +25% to hit
R7: +50% to hit

Brew Potion
Cost: Time, Items, Needs Workbench
R1: easy potions, 50% chance of fail
R2: easy potions, 25% chance of fail
R3: easy potions, 10% chance of fail
R4: medium potions, 5% chance of fail
R5: medium potions, 5% chance of fail
R6: exotic potions, 5% chance of fail
R7: exotic potions, 5% chance of fail

Easy enough, you combine items from a recipie, put in a container, wait the appropriate number of days, and get your item if you didnt fail.

Potions Recipies
easy potions:

Red Wine
8 grapes
2 sugar
10 days

Cider
4 Green Apples
4 Sugar
5 days

Vinegar
Wine or Cider
5 days

Minor Healing Potion
4 Strawberries
1 Milk
2 Sugar
1 day brew time

Regular Healng Potion
10 Strawberries
2 Milk
4 Sugar
1 day brew time


Antidote
3 Green Apple
1 Mead
1 OverCooked Egg
2 days brew time


Medium Recipies

Mana Potion
8 Mushroom
2 Mead
4 Carrot
1 Green Herb
2 days brew time


Potion of Vigor
4 Mead
4 Mushrooms
4 Radishes
2 Rare Spice

Poison Burst
2 Poison Glands
2 Radishes
2 day brew time

Acid Burst
4 Overcooked Eggs
8 Radishes
2 Mead
4 Poison Glands
4 Onion
2 Vinegar
6 day brew time


Cooking
Cost: Needs Fire, Materials, Time

Cost: Time, Items, Needs Workbench
R1: easy meals, 50% chance of fail
R2: easy meals, 25% chance of fail
R3: easy meals, 10% chance of fail
R4: medium meals, 5% chance of fail
R5: medium meals, 5% chance of fail
R6: exotic meals, 5% chance of fail
R7: exotic meals, 5% chance of fail

Cooking is about the same as potions, but you get several items in return, servings. Cooking gives several items for other uses.

Toast
Jam

Sandwich: 20 HP
Cooked Meat
Bread
Lettuce/Tomato/Cheese?

Makes 2 Servings

Beef Stew: 40 HP
2 Meat/Cooked Meat
4 Carrots
4 Radishes
4 Mushrooms
4 Potato
1 Mead
2 Garlic?
Makes 4 Servings

French Toast: 25 HP
4 Bread
2 Milk
2 Eggs
2 Jam

Makes 2 Servings

Medium Recipies

Steak and Eggs: 50 HP
Meat/Cooked Meat
2 Eggs
1 Potato

Serves 1

Saute'ed Beef: 35HP
1 Meat
2 Radishes
2 Carrots
2 Onion?
1 Red Wine
1 garlic
Serves 2

Carrot Cake: 25HP
6 carrots
6 sugar
4 flour
4 eggs
2 milk
1 Cider

serves 8

Pasta Marinara: restore 40 HP
2 Cooked Meat
3 Flour
1 Egg
3 Tomatoes
1 Cheese
serves 2


These are just some to get started, even these few things would go a long way for a Smart Character.

I think this is a great idea. At last we will be able to use those ingredients for something. I am sure this must be why Oskar put those things in the market to begin with.

Just curious if Oskar has some form of crafting system in mind or even in the works. As well aa basic discussion of the details of such a system as there are so many items that have no use as of right now.

This idea came up several times, but AFAIK he has never commented about it.

Best advice is to keep some of every item you acquire. I say this because you have no idea if that item will be needed in the future.

We might, some time in the future. At the moment, there are other things that are higher on the priority list however, such as finishing the world and storyline :)

There might be something we can do in the regular conversations without even coding anything, since that type of functionality is already in place. Give something to someone, get something else in return. Let's see about that.

Intersting... guess i will have to go do a few more laps around the current map and not sell everything. :)

In the last time I had something like this in mind: What about having a smith in the game that could improve existing weapons.
1) The weapons (or also other items) could have an active condition added. (with additional AC, AD, etc.)
2) This would only work for items without active condition yet.
3) Perhaps he would only improve 1 or 2 weapons. So one have to decide which one to improve.
4) Perhaps one could give him many of his gold to double or triple the effect.
10000 gold - adds 1 AD to a specific weapon
25000 gold - adds 2 AD to a specific weapon
50000 gold - adds 3 AD to a specific weapon
90000 gold - adds 4 AD to a specific weapon
150000 gold - adds 5 AD to a specific weapon

It would just add another of this (IMO very nice) decisions you would have to live with. ;)

I love this idea! It would be a great way to make ppl use up more of their spare cash and even have to deside between being able to buy more poitions or being able to upgrade their weaponry.

I feel as if there is too much $$$ in everyones pockets after you reach around level 20 there isnt much left to buy in the game so most of the time it just keeps adding up (until you go do a bonemeal potion run)
