Ultra legendary items

Hello AT-world,

just answered a post about legendary items and - of course - raising drop chance I was struck by an idea (grmpf, ough, argh,... happens every once in a while):
What about legendary items with even lower drop chance? Sure, they have to be even more powerfull (btw: I have all legendary items, but using them: nop, the - excellent - ordinary items are quite wonderfull powerfull enough), so those items deserve a title like ultra legendary (or any better fitting title).

From scratch I can think of:

Ring of brighter shadows (maybe senseless, but it sounds good)
AC: +20 - +30
AD: +4 - +7
BC: + 7
DR: +1
HP: +5
CC: +5
Shadow regeneration: 2
(The values are nearly meaningless; if one gets this item, there should be no need for the power any more. But the values have something and were not that overpowered.)

Great Erytharan redeemer
AP: 4
AC: +25 - +30
AD: +3 - +8
BC: +5
Max AP: +2
DR: +1
CC: +10
CM: 2,0

(Guess the AP boost makes the difference. A lot of players mentioned the flaw of AP 5, so I think AP 4 makes 2-handed weapons more desirable than now. Damned, I would go for it! The crit is just cosmetic, if it makes the weapon too powerfull, then no crit chance at all)

Great ring of protector
AC: +25
AD: +3
BC: +15
DR: +1

(again the values were not that overpowered compared to the ordinary ring of protection, just slightly increade of values and a DR here and a CC there, but the sum of all bonis makes this ring maybe more desirable than a RoLS?)

Yeah, the drop chance should be 10x lower than for legendary items, of course. :mrgreen:


To round up the extraordinary and legendary items let me write about to more ideas:
Legendary item
Great helmet of the defender
Category: Head, heavy metall
AC: -5
AD: 0 - +2
BC: +15
DR: +1
Condition on target: 10% chance stunned at hit (3 rounds)
Dropped by Zortak giant (fighter, guard or barbarian, not scout)

Extraordinary item
The Giants Scale
AC: -5
AD: 0 - +2
BC: +15
Conditon: on target by hit: 20% chance for chaotic grip x2 (2 rounds)
Dropped by strong auleath

Now I have to hurry up, have to walk with the dog.

Yeah, these are nice ideas, but I'd rather see a better combat system, and then more/better weapon selections to go with it, versus more legendaries.

I like the idea of better legendaries like that because existing legendaries are way too similar in stats to ordinary bought in shop items. Legendaries should be more powerful
Old veteran player from 2011. On my 13 character now lol. Hopefully this one lasts a bit longer :shock:

IMHO, legendaries should have unique traits rather than simply overpower everything else. That's why the RoLS and RoL are so popular.

Crit. immune armor would be awesome I think. But IMO it should be something other then chest armor if it had mediocre stats

It's hard for me to picture anything but the main armor bring capable of giving crit immunity, though I suppose even a ring could be enchanted to give any characteristic. Lots of suits of armor have middling stats. Part of it being "not overpowered", as mentioned earlier in the thread, would be the decision to give up BC, or perhaps AC, to get the immunity.

Right I understand how it should be the chest piece for that I'd just prefer it being for instance the boots so I could keep a dr2 chest piece for absorbing hits versus lose that. But I think either way crit immunity would be so useful in so many places especially some of the later areas

I agree. A legendary item could be legendarily bad. How about "The Curse of Kazaul", a two handed sword that gives you rotworms when you equip it :evil:
