of mice and men.. if you decide not to kill the rats in the basement i think that they should return to human form upon killing aldrangor in what a stench. Maybe thwn they would be greatful and bestowe a reward on the adventurer? I think that would tie up loose ends and give a more morally ethical ending to both quests. Opinions please 😊
Voom wrote: Tue Jun 27, 2017 12:44 am I very much agree. Do you know how many times I chose to not get certain equipment b/c it would have been wrong?
dark protector, marrowtaint
AT is designed to make you make choices, not all of them easy. It is not desirable to change that. Morally ethical endings are not required, or even necessarily desirable. There is always at least one morally ethical ending, although in the case of Cheap cuts it's only to decline to kill the sheep, for which you get nothing. You have to make your choices, and live with them
I destroyed the dark protector, but got Marrowtaint
yes but if you decline to kill those rats in of mice and men then kill aldrangor the rats stay there unchanged. Also if u kill them at a later date the strange rat tails still appear and stay in your inventory as quest items even though you can no longer complete. My suggestion does give an ethical ending AND disposes of the extra left over items. 2 birds 1 stone

The unethical ending is fine, but I agree that the loose ends in the quest are not desirable. I see no reason that the rats should change back if you kill Adrangor, but maybe there could be another quest where you find a way to turn them back into people again. Unless you kill her and the rats, in which case your only reward is a bunch of useless rat tails :D . More choices

Interesting, I like this quest and it fits well in the narrative.

I disagree. Most people would be under the impression that if you kill a witch their spells are broken. At least 90% of fantasy/films seem to represent this view. Even including Harry potter 😊

Well, regardless of how we would turn them back into people, I have to think a bit about the practicalities of doing that. I know how to make all the rats disappear, but I can't think of a way to make the people appear in their place. Maybe just making the rats disappear would be good enough?

Yes that would suffice I suppose. Also add dialogue to the other npcs that had people go missing. Either that or go through the whole rigamarole of making the farmers wife appear in the field the knight in the tavern ECT and individual dialogue for each of them. It's up to you devs to decide how much effort it's worth to tie up loose ends :!: :D

Or you could do as a separate quest given by the knights in remgaurd tavern.
E.g. they say to search aldrangor house for clues. Maybe her diary could be found noting how she had turned those filthy remgaurders into rats. Then return to the knights who send you elsewhere for a way to reverse the spell.....possibly using the wizard in lonedord gaurdhouse who currently just turns you away saying he doesn't want to buy trinkets?
